Offered Conditions
Any person who looks or appears to be under the age of 21 shall be asked to provide identification that they are over the age of 18. The following are the only forms of identification acceptable: UK photo driving licence, passport, PASS card, (proof of age standards scheme).
Other than the potential to show films, plays or performances censored to over 18 patrons from which under 18’s will be excluded as part of the University policy on the key licensing objectives there will be no adult entertainment services, activities, other entertainment or matters ancillary to the use of the premises that may give rise to concern in respect of children
Operating schedule
1 General Statement
The University Governing Body will hold all premises licences as a single licensee and recognises its responsibilities and obligations under the Licensing Act 2003.
The Governing Body will implement policies relating to operating premises controlled by the University to meet the four key objectives of the Licensing Act 2003.
All persons employed in licensed premises will, where possible, receive training commensurate with their responsibilities.
An internal college student disciplinary procedure exists and meets the disciplinary objectives of the University.
Incident logs are kept for recording events.
24-hour security staff are in place on the University Campus.
24 hour CCTV covers various public areas of the campus.
There is a past record of good relationships with local residents and a liaison group with Galgate residents has existed for several years.
Prevention of Crime and Disorder
A personal licence holder will be present at all times when alcohol is on sale, except in an emergency, and will be identified via an appropriate notice within the licensed premises.
A designated Health and Safety Department is part of the university structure and is consulted on issues relating to public safety.
Detailed risk assessments, as described in Section 12 of the Lancaster City Council Licensing Policy, have been carried out for all licensed premises.
SIA registered door staff are used for the College Summer Extravaganzas and similar events, with a log of contractors and hours worked held by the DPS.
Duty Managers attend events in Great Hall.

Public Safety
Regular fire safety inspections and drills are carried out.
Plastic Glasses are used for external events.
SIA registered door staff are used for larger events with a log of contractors and hours worked held by the DPS.
Running drinking water is readily available for most events.
An internal complaints procedure through college officers and student union is available.
Prevention of Public Nuisance
Premises display “leave quietly” notices.
Dispersal - alcohol sales will cease at least 20 minutes from the terminal hour for the premises.
Automatic noise limiters are used to control the maximum volume of amplified music if it is thought that the music may cause a nuisance when the music is played outdoors.
Protection of Children from Harm
Student I. D. cards are issued.
Licensed bars clearly display Licensing for the sale of alcohol warning notices.
Incident logs are kept for recording events.
No alcohol will be served to anyone under the age of 18.
Students who are under 18 years of age are made to known to Personal Licence Holders.
The licensed premises do not contain gambling machines.
A form of identification will be required by the barstaff if a customer looks under the age of 18 years. The only acceptable forms of identification will be passport, photo driving licence, proof of age scheme card.
Lancaster University reserves the right to alter or amend or increase the above policies without notification.
