  On New Year’s Eve alcohol may be sold from the end of permitted hours on New Year’s Eve to the start of permitted hours on the following day (or, if there are no permitted hours on the following day, 00.00 hours (midnight) on 31st December)

   

  An additional hour to the standard times on the day when British Summertime commences

   

  Credit Sales

  Alcohol shall not be sold or supplied unless it is paid for before or at the time when it is sold or supplied, except alcohol sold or supplied with and for consumption at a meal supplied at the same time, consumed with the meal and paid for together with the meal

   

  Special Hours Certificate

  (1)               Subject to the following paragraphs, the permitted hours Monday to Saturday shall extend until 02.00 hours in the morning following except that-

                (a)              the permitted hours shall end at 00.00 hours (midnight) on any day on which music and dancing is not provided after 00.00 hours (midnight); and

                (b)               on any day that music and dancing end between 00.00 hours (midnight) and 02.00 hours in the morning, the permitted hours shall end when the music and dancing end

  (2)              In relation to the morning on which summer time begins, paragraph (1) of this condition shall have effect with the substitution of references to 03.00 hours in the morning for references to 02.00 hours in the morning

  (3)              The sale of alcohol must be ancillary to the use of the premises for music and dancing and substantial refreshment.

   

  NO Children’s Certificate

  No person under fourteen shall be in the bar of the licensed premises during the permitted hours unless one of the following applies:

  )          He is the child of the holder of the premises licence.

  )          He resides in the premises, but is not employed there.

  )          He is in the bar solely for the purpose of passing to or from some part of the premises that is not a bar and to or from some part of the premises where there is no other convenient means of access or egress.

  )          The bar is in railway refreshment rooms or other premises constructed, fitted and intended to be used bona fide for any purpose to which holding of the licence is ancillary.

  )          In this condition “bar” includes any place exclusively or mainly used for the consumption of intoxicating liquor.  However, an area is not a bar when it is usual for it to be, and it is, set apart for the service of table meals and alcohol is only sold or supplied to persons as an ancillary to their table meals.

   

  Mandatory conditions where licence authorises the supply of alcohol

  (1)              No supply of alcohol may be made under the premises licence -

  (a)              at a time when there is no designated premises supervisor in respect of the premises licence, or

  (b)              at a time when the designated premises supervisor does not hold a personal licence or his personal licence is suspended.

   

  (2)              The supply of alcohol under the premises licence must be made or authorised by a person who holds a personal licence

   

  Mandatory condition where Door Supervisors are provided

  All individuals who carry out security activities must be licensed by the Security Industry Authority (SIA)

  1        Alcohol will be sold or supplied only to the following persons: -

  )          Members of Lancaster University Off Campus Social Centre, such membership being open only to the following persons who are over 18 years: -

  )          Registered Students of Lancaster University

  )          Registered Students of St. Martin’s College

  )          Staff, Assistant Staff and Graduates of Lancaster University and staff of Lancaster University Students Union

  )          Students enrolled on courses with the Adult College, Lancaster

  )          Not more than 1,000 other persons.

  )          Member of any Higher Education Student Union within United Kingdom

  1        Guests of any such Member provided that no member may introduce more than two guests at any one time

  By persons attending functions including concerts for which admission is by ticket, any such use of the licence to be notified at least 14 days before the event to the Chief Superintendent of Police, not more than 12 such functions in any one calendar month.

• Non standard timings

   

  Regulated entertainment and the sale/supply of alcohol will be permitted until 09.00 hours the following day and the premises may be open until 10.00 hours the following day on twelve occasions per annum with 10 working days notice to and agreement with the police

• Offered Conditions

  1        A minimum number of members of door staff registered with the SIA will be on duty at all times during which intoxicating liquor is being sold or supplied to customers or consumed by customers - 1 member for the first 150 customers; 2 members for up to 250 customers; 4 members for up to 750 customers; 6 members for up to 1000 customers; and 8 members for up to 1200 customers

  2        Door supervisors registered with SIA shall be equipped with an appropriate method of keeping an accurate record of the capacity levels, including any separate capacity levels for individual rooms or levels

  3        A dispersal policy, which is agreed by the police to be implemented at all times

  4        Any person who looks or appears to be under the age of 18 shall be asked to provide identification that they are over the age of 18.  The following are the only forms of identification acceptable: UK photo driving licence; Passport; PASS card (proof of age standards scheme)

  5        There will be no adult entertainment services, activities, other entertainment or matters ancillary to the use of the premises that may give rise to concern in respect of children other than films with a classification of 18+

  6.   No children permitted on the premises
