Operating schedule
a) General - all four licensing objectives (b,c,d,e)
It is intended that by the granting of the Application itself, the Licensing Objectives will be satisfied. It should be borne in mind that the premises are that of a restaurant; any alcohol served is aimed at being ancillary to the enjoyment of the food provided.
b) The prevention of crime and disorder
As mentioned above, the application in itself will help prevent crime and disorder, as the premises will be serving high standard food and drink, to diners in a restaurant environment. The restaurant atmosphere by its very nature is aimed at sections of the public unlikely to cause concern in respect of crime and disorder.
c) Public safety
Since the current proprietors have taken over the premises in October 2009, the restaurant has had the benefit of a comprehensive re-fit including re-wiring, new fire alarm system, and restaurant fixtures and fittings. Regular inspections will take place to ensure that equipment on the premises intended to assist public safety is in working order. The applicants will also ensure compliance with all statutory Health and Safety Regulations.
d) The prevention of public nuisance
The premises are situated at the top end of a high street away from the hustle and bustle of the main shopping area. Alcohol will only be served to diners for consumption on the premises ancillary to the service of food.
e) The protection of children from harm
The mandatory condition will of course be adhered to in respect of alcohol sales by the premises licenceholder which will protect children from harm. Furthermore, the restaurant is aimed to appeal to adults; families will be welcome (children accompanied by responsible adults) however will not be the restaurant's key demographic.
